He's taking long time coaches, and going after UCF's offered and committed recruits... From Nebraska's perspective we have to take everything we possibly can to hit the ground running and I don't fault him one bit. It is a big upgrade for players and coaches across the board as far as potential at Nebraska, but man UCF is going to be starting from scratch in a lot of ways. Good thing their football excellence fund was topped off. Kidding aside, I'm sure they mostly expect SF to take his staff with him. But, this one might sting a little. Either way an undefeated season is an undefeated season and UCF will still have a team of winners for the next coach to direct. They still won. I would guess they were waiting to see what UCF would offer $ wise and then said "How cold could it really be in Nebraska?" Walters wanted the head coaching job. He might have also wanted to see if he was offered an OC spot where he was the play caller. I get bringing all the offensive guys over, but I'm not fond of keeping all of the defensive guys. The defense looked horrible in the last two games. Quote Link to comment

BoNeyard
very excited about Walters coming over for OC. IMO it probably would have been smart for UCF to give him the head coaching job. This staff is already going out there and seems to be trying hard on the recruiting trail and seem to be getting good responses. I am excited to see how this recruiting class ends up. Had Rileys assistants all been decent at OSU he may have brought all with him too. Quote Link to comment

They didn't want to stay at UCF. Is Frost/Nebraska suppose to turn them away at that point to avoid hurting that fan base's feelings? 4 Quote Link to comment
