Weird Time for Christians

Recommended Posts

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Talk like this to a Republican and they will call you a virtue signaling pussy.

This is the disconnect that DefenderAO refuses to understand.

Matthew 7:1-29

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. ...

Remember that time when Defender had weeks and dozens worth of empassioned, active and heartfelt condemnations of the progressive agenda and how its moral decay (as evidenced by the occasional drag show and trans child and sexually-topical books in libraries) was leading to the ruin of America?

Then remember that time when confronted with the evidence of a morally reupgnant and rotten core at the center of the largest Christian organization in the country, and all he had to offer was a single post playing defense using the Bible to say that those people aren't real Christians?

No true Scotsman, am I right?

Classic modern Christianity: quote the bible instead of thinking critically.

Look where "critical" progressive thinking has come...

Sexually perverse material in public schools, abortions rampant, gender dysphoria, violence.

Evil is called good.  The Word is clear on these times.

Very clearly - I don't plant my flag in the ground as a Republican first.  Christian over conservative over any existent political party.

Your contempt towards a GOP party is as effectual as you're embracing a leftist, progressive party.

Neither save.

Amen.  It goes on...

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit.18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits.

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

24 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Tell me about forms of moral bankruptcy better than another.

People can call themselves anything (familiar?).   It does not make them so.  Many take the wide road.  Others believe they're good through their works.

Individual change comes through Jesus alone.

Ephesians

And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body[a] and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.[b] But[c] God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved
