I'm still hoping Bivens comes as I think he may be the best recruit in the entire class based on the film, etc.   I know nothing of the injury or grades of course but if the knee was not 'ruinged, and he gets his grades/scores, we need to find a spot for him.   We need a real quality RB and I just feel he is the one.   The other RBs look good too but just a feeling on him.

You might get your wish!

Maybe not best player, but he could be the best skill player not named Wandale in the class if signed. At one point he was considered an elite talent, and teams have backed off due to grades and an injury, no?

Thompkins was more sought after than Bivens was as a Jr...Rahmir Johnson also fits in the offesnse great. Kid is a true burner

I like Thompkins more personally but all I'm saying is Bivens was once considered one of the top backs in the class. He has talent and we never know who is going to break out at the next level. That being said the coaches likely have a much better feel for who those kids are based on personality, work ethic, ect. So if they don't see it with Bivens then there is probably a good reason

No availability for a RB.  I think they are looking for a WR and Def. to fill the class!

So they had him OV here for what reason then?

It's just what I'm hearing.  I'm guessing Mills took the final spot whats he signed.  I'm not hearing any others names, but Houston.

Imo we were looking to add another offensive skill position and he was plan C behind Njoku and Houston.

Frost & staff is being a little picky on the 2nd period.  Will not be surprised if we only take 1.    FYI - Mills did sign the same weekend as the Biven's visit, so guessing he was a plan B for Mills.  Don't get me wrong, I'd like him as a Husker.  I just dont think its going to happen!

Word is his surgically-repaired leg is noticeable smaller than the other one indicating he has quite a ways to go in his recovery.

I'm sure that's right.  But he's ... what.... nearly a year-and-a-half out now?  A lot of guys are playing again in 9-10 months.

Anyone know what the story is with him?

I don't think anyone really knows.

But I saw some speculation over the last week that possibly some FBS programs that were interested were floating the idea of him going to a JUCO for a year.  He could show that he has recovered and, as a full qualifier, would only have to stay one year before (potentially) transferring to an FBS program.

No idea if that's legit but it might be one option he's weighing.

why send him to a juco and lose a year? why not go the basketball route and send him to a prep school?

How prevalent in football is prep school? I don't think I can remember a guy going to prep school instead of JuCo to save a year.

Casey Rodgers attended a prep school too.

They're really common in CT. Michigan has been recruiting the hell out of them the last few years.

Is the rational between juco and prep school just grade admittance then? Otherwise, why don't we push guys like Watt from last year to do that if we want them back?
