Trumping up a war?

Not Bush and especially not Trump are  they comparable to FDR.  It made sense not to change leaders during WW2 and FDR proved to be the leader that was needed.  Bush and Trump are well out of that league.

The most troubling part is that FDR could make a case that America was fighting for freedom and democracy. It united us in purpose and sacrifice.

It went downhill after that. Young Americans were asked to die for causes having little to do with freedom and democracy, or America's safety. But every President since Roosevelt would call upon that vintage sense of American nobility to sell wars with almost no moral footing. It works because we like to think of ourselves as heroes.

Maybe it will rile up a few GOP senators to vote to convict Trump in the impeachment trial.......  nah not going to happen.

GOP will be all in. They have become the party of war.

Just war? That's selling them short.

Well the cost won't just be financial. The financial cost will be significant, the human cost will likely be worse. Still worth it? At what point is it not worth it to you?

It is always worth it to the right thing.  I think we all agree with that.
