I get that their literal job is to support the police, so it's not surprising at all, but it's still kind of sad. I read this release from NAPO calling for a boycott. They paint the situation as black-and-white, which is obviously safe for them but completely defeats the goal of trying to have a nuanced, serious conversation about a serious subject. Also, not relevant to the discussion, but I cringed SO HARD when I read the phrase "corporate citizens like Nike." Although they make some good points. In particular, the more I think about it, the more I hate the phrase "sacrificing everything." I respect what Kaep gave up for what he believes. It's a lot. But I could see those who served in the Armed Forces or public servants could be pissed about that phrase. 1 Link to comment
Moiraine
I am so tired of stupid people. And I don't even like Nikes. Quote "Under no circumstances will any Nike product or any product with the Nike logo be purchased for use or delivery at any City of Kenner Recreation Facility," the memo read. https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/10/us/kenner-louisiana-mayor-bans-city-nike-purchases-trnd/index.html Link to comment
