This is awesome!  I am totally positive that Shelly did this...

She sees these pictures of her friend...pictures that show she was beat to s#!t...and later that night in bed while reading a Home and Garden she looks over at Urban and says "Oh Urban, I forgot to tell you, the Smiths are having issues again"...

"Issues" is finding some porn on the husbands computer...Not getting the s#!t kicked out of you.

I show my friends pretty much any pictures that is texted to me...So I am for sure showing my hubby/wife pictures of a family friend that has been beat to s#!t.

We don't know what Shelly did or didn't do related to the pictures.  Who knows what the circumstances were.  Maybe Urban previously told her keep him out of coach wife drama.  Shelly might not have wanted to bother Urban (which would be a serious lapse in judgment).

Here's the problem with all the excuses that are being through about, whether Urban saw them or not. Taken from McMurphy's report:

Lindsey is the wife of Brian Voltolini, considered one of Meyer’s most loyal staff members. Brian is Ohio State’s football operations director and has been part of Meyer’s staffs for 15 seasons at Bowling Green, Utah, Florida and Ohio State.

Courtney: “(Zach’s) trying to make me look crazy bc that’s what Shelley is saying (he’s doing)”
Lindsey: “He (Urban) just said he (Zach) denied everything”
Courtney: “I hope urban is smarter than that”
Lindsey: “He (Urban) doesn’t know what to think”
Courtney: “I don’t really care. Ya know”
Lindsey: “Yeah, don’t worry about urb”

Urban saw the text messages and was aware of the situation. If you can't comprehend that, I will steal a line from Courtney and say I hope you are smarter than that. He covered it up. That is a fact. This isn't about policing. I think this whole ordeal wouldn't have been an issue if Urban would've come clean a long time ago. Said we had personal issues we were hoping would be resolved. They weren't and I don't want those type of people coaching my players. Instead, he lied straight to the media's face last week and that is what will ultimately do him in.

Starting to see a way for OSU to retain Meyer.  I'm no lawyer, so not sure how true this is, but the scenario is this:

*  Title IX protects students and employees of the school

*  Title IX covers discrimination and sexual assault/abuse

The wife is not a student nor an employee, does she qualify to be covered under Title IX.   This is domestic abuse, not sexual abuse or assault, does domestic abuse fall under what Title IX protects?    If the answer is no to those questions, then Meyer didn't have to report anything, and all he did was lie to the press, something coaches do all the time.  While it still makes him scum, and I still feel he should be fired, if you answer no, he didn't violate his contract and therefore shouldn't be fired.

Meyer's wife is an employee for the school. She works in the nursing program. So that doesn't help Urban.

As soon as Shelly Meyer was made aware of the incidents and allegations, she is required by law to report them. As is Urban if he is made aware of them.

If their defense is that Mrs. Meyer never told Urban, that's a nail in the coffin.

That text exchange doesn't prove Urban saw any texts or photos.  It proves in my opinion he is aware of a situation between Zack and Courtney and Urban asked Zach about it which Zack denied.

So you're going to believe that Urban knows about the situation and never discusses with Shelley, his wife, who is considered the First Lady of Ohio State? The same lady who has texts conversations that could easily be shown to Urban? If that is the case, the absolute ignorance and neglect of a fellow football coach's wife getting beat to s#!t should get them all relieved of their duties.

Domestic abuse involving students or employees does indeed fall under Title IX. And we have to remember, we aren't just talking about Title IX as a federal regulation, we are talking about Ohio State's Title IX policy, which is more restrictive than current federal Title IX guidance, and Urban Meyer's contract, which specifically states: Coach shall promptly report to Ohio State's Title IX Athletics any known violations of Ohio State's Sexual Misconduct Policy (including, but not limited to, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, intimate violence and stalking) that involve any student, faculty or staff or that is in connection with a university sponsored activity or event.

Since Zach Smith was an OSU employee and he was allegedly involved in intimate violence, the obligation to report is clear.

And it is irrelevant how serious Urban or his wife thought the issue was, if they knew anything at all (especially to the extent that we know Shelley was aware, according to those texts), they have an obligation to report. It is not up to them to do any investigation or analysis, just report it.

As to the splitting of hairs as to whether or not Shelley told Urban, they will never be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt if Urban didn't know something or wasn't told. But since the standard of proof is so low in this case (OSU uses preponderance of the evidence), they only have to determine if it is more likely than not that Urban knew. Given what we know from the text messages, Urban Meyer's personality, the micro-managey nature of head coaches in general, and the marital relationship, it is simply not likely that Urban didn't know. Possible? Sure, but the likelihood of it is all that needs to be there to form a slam dunk decision.

The whole purpose of title IX is to protect those around and on the university. Knowingly allowing and not reporting that a staff member is a repeat domestic abuser falls into this category. Urban as well as his wife HAVE to report it. Period

They're receiving too much negative press. They need to get ahead of that and the right thing to do is to terminate Urban Meyer for cause. The university will then save $38+ million by doing so.

I'm sure they will negotiate a buy-out. They may well have justification to fire for cause, but even so there would be lawsuits, counter-lawsuits, and more ugliness. OSU will just want this to go away. They are gonna end up paying, and we will probably not hear another word about it from Urban Meyer.

If the allegations prove to be true, do you really believe Urban Meyer is entitled to negotiate a buy-out? I don't think so.

Entitled? No way. I think he's guilty as hell. But I think they agree to a buyout to make this go away as quickly and quietly as possible.

A side issue to this is and what likely led to the mess is the prevalent nepotism and good ol' boy network there seems to be in CFB. Too much authority is given to head CFB coaches on who they hire.  Seems head coaches put family members on their staff and they are paid handsomely.  Really, do you think Zack Smith could find a job outside of football making $3-400K a year?  I heard Urban's son in law is on staff too.  Not a good situation if the son in law f's up and then Urban is in uncomfortable position.

As well as OC, DC, Special Teams coach, D-Line Coach, Linebackers Coach, Wide Receivers Coach, O-Line Coach, QB Coach, Running Backs Coach, Secondary Coach...
