US threatens the International Criminal Court

Oddly, I somewhat agree with the reasoning behind this.  What Bolton is so inelegantly saying is that no American should be tried under the auspices of a court that has members who are avowed enemies of the United States.

As usual, however, they're shutting down US involvement with an international organization without first having a backup plan.

Same thing Trump did with TPP. Same thing he's trying to do with NAFTA. Same thing he's doing with NATO. Same thing he's doing with Obamacare. Same thing he's doing with just about everything. He claims he'll tear down all these "bad deals" and get us great new ones. The best deals.

It's just that it's been two years and not one new deal has shown up that's beneficial to America.

It's almost as if he's trying to tear America down instead of build it up.  It's so weird.

That pretty much sums up the problem.  He is destroying every inch of relations around the world and respect as a world power.....with no ability to build it back up into something even close to the same....let alone better.

It's bullying on a global scale. Is the ICC perfect? Absolutely not. But what the statement seems to be saying is that the US will not be subject to international law. Such law is reserved instead for those of you who do not have a trillion dollar military, and who choose to not follow our dictates.

It is not justice they are after, it is rule by might. "You don't have a military that can challenge us? Then get out of our f#%&ing way or we will steamroll you." And people wonder where asymmetric warfare (i.e. 'terrorism') comes from, as if it is a big freaking mystery.
