Yes, they play Westside tonight. But then their next game isn't until next Friday. So I would guess he's flying out tomorrow morning. Quote Link to comment

Hopefully we are both wrong. I'm really really really hoping you guys are wrong. At some point, we have to get a player that is on a a list like that. I still would like to know what happened with Williams. Also, what I take from that list is that I believe HS basketball in Nebraska is improving. Quote Link to comment

Mainly I think it's a bad combination of his injury, coaching change and Hoiberg's need to completely rebuild the roster (taking JUCOs and transfers at the same position). Williams kind of got cold feet and it fell apart from there. Just now, BigRedBuster said: Also, what I take from that list is that I believe HS basketball in Nebraska is improving. This definitely seems to be the case. It's been disappointing for nearly 30 years on that front, for different reasons. In my opinion, in the 90s there was a lot of talent in the state. But we didn't end up with much of it. Then in the 00s, there wasn't much talent, but we seemed to try to recruit the little bit there was. Now the talent seems to definitely be on the upswing. And hopefully we can snag a bunch of it. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Quote The good news for the Huskers is that despite all of this national attention, Sallis and his family have expressed plenty of interest in being a hometown hero. “It’s my home state,” Sallis told HuskerOnline.com last month. “My family could come watch me play and it’s really close to home. Really, the coaching staff, I know (Hoiberg’s) background is really good and he’s an NBA coach. That’s always good having that connection… “Playing in front of my family and like my friends. That's really big, and that's one of the things I’m looking at during recruitment. So it's really big.” 3 Quote Link to comment

But he has a chance to play for almost any program in the country for almost any of the best coaches there are. Compared to a team that is probably going to finish at the bottom of it's conference. There is even speculation that he'll transfer to a prep school for his senior year to be able to play against the best in the country. If that happens, it will pretty much answer the "stay close to home" question. Quote Link to comment
