Lol, what?  Iowa has won the division once since Nebraska joined.  Frankly, outside of the year you ran the table then got stomped out twice to end the year in 2015 you've pretty much been the same team we have.

Only difference is we're looking (hopefully found) the right coach to consistently turn it around while you're not only stuck with mediocrity you also continue to commit to mediocrity.  I envision a nice beatdown at the hands of penn state a few weeks from now to put iowa fans back in their place after getting hyped up at this cupcake schedule for 2018

You Husker fans are hilarious. I laugh every time you guys think you are a prestigious team, simply because YOU AREN'T.  Look at one key fact Huskers, you were part of a dying conference that sucked and still sucks.  I believe the last time the Big 12 team won a title was 2000 (yeah what a power conference!!). Once you became part of the Big 10 things dyed down extremely quickly.  Simply put, you were not prepared for the difficulties of a top tier conference.  I really wish you would have stayed in the big 12 because you provide nothing to the B10.  You are literally worse than Rutgers, congrats Huskers!

From 2000 to present both the Big 12 and B1G have won the same amount of Nattys but the Big 12 played in more

Big 12

OU - 2000 won , 2008 lost

Texas - 2005 won, 2009 lost

Nebraska - 2001 lost

B1G

Ohio State - 2003 won with a DPI gift

Ohio State - 2008 lost

Ohio State - 2015 won

Iowa plays Maryland, Penn State, and Indiana from the East... must be tough. Iowa has never and will never be a powerhouse. Give it two years, and we will be at Iowa's all time high.

Look at Iowa’s non-conference schedule for the next 5 years, it’s pathetic. Only P-5 team they play is Iowa State and then they play 2-3 FCS teams as well. I’m sorry but nobody outside of the state of Iowa gives a damn about that game. Move on Iowa and play tougher opponents.

Nebraska has played Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and/or Michigan State, 4 of those 5 teams, in some cases all 5 in more seasons than Iowa has since Nebraska joined the B1G. Nebraska goes out of their way to schedule tougher opponents while Iowa skates by untested.

Iowa is locked into an annual game with ISU.  Not the strongest annual opponent, but it is a rivalry game that brings out the best in ISU.  Since it isn't for the national title, you guys will chortle at such a rivalry game, but I've already pointed out how college football fans now think that rivalry games are lame.

Iowa plays UNI in 2020, SDSU in 2022, and Illinois State in 2024.  Nebraska plays South Alabama in 2019, SDSU in 2020, North Dakota AND FBS newbie Georgia Southern in 2022, and SDSU in 2024.  Nebraska actually has one more FCS team scheduled than Iowa does.

Nebraska does have huge tilts with OU in 2021/2022, but otherwise is playing Colorado/Cincinnati.  Colorado/Cincy isn't hugely different than ISU.

Nebraska does not appear to schedule an appreciably tougher non-conference slate than Iowa.

We have played recently, and will play soon, the following in the non conference:

2000-2001 we played Notre Dame

2002-2003 we played Penn State

2004-2005 we played Pitt/Southern Miss then Pitt/Wake Forest

2006-2007 we played USC

2008-2009 we played Virginia Tech

2010-2011 we played Washington

2012-2013 we played UCLA

2014-2015 we played Miami

2016-2017 we played Oregon

2018-2019 we play Colorado

2021-2022 we play Oklahoma

2026-2027 we play Tennessee (this was originally scheduled for much much earlier but they reneged and rescheduled it down the road, don't remember why)

Obviously a number of them weren't great when we played them but also obviously nobody hardly has control over that.

Iowa State has been the toughest non-con team you've played in all but maybe... 5 of your last 18 or so seasons?

Iowa played 10 P5 games nearly every year of the 12-game schedule before the B1G went to the 9-game schedule, and now continue to play 10 with ISU being the tenth.

We played home and homes with Pitt x4, Arizona State, Arizona, and Syracuse.  The only years Iowa didn't play 10 P5 was to play NIU in a neutral site game at Soldier Field in Chicago, which they did twice.

Nebraska played 9 P5 games every year from 2008 through 2015, the last year of 8-game B1G schedule.  2015 had BYU, which is almost P5.  2007 had two P5 with historical power Wake Forest and USC.  2005 you played 11 P5 games, with historical powers Wake Forest, ISU, and Pitt.

Iowa played only 9 P5 games two or three times in the past 15 years.  Nebraska did it for 8 consecutive years.

You folks are bad with facts to support your scheduling claims.

idk if you represent "You [Iowa] folks" but you are bad with remembering what we're talking about.

The answer would be non-conference scheduling. Not how many P5 teams you play in a year.

Iowa has played two P5 teams HaH in the non-conf nearly every year of the last 15 years.  ISU and (Pitt|AzSU|Ariz|Syracuse), and two buy games.

Nebraska has played one P5 team HaH in the non-conf nearly every year of the last 15 years.  And three buy games.

Iowa has one future game scheduled against a Dakota school.

Nebraska has five future games scheduled against a Dakota school.

Are these cutesy troll attempts about Iowa losing to NDSU in 2016?

That same year, Iowa came into Lincoln and spanked Nebraska 40-10.  At least you got a TD to let those balloons go halfway through the third quarter.

Sagarin had NDSU ranked #44 that year, Nebraska #45.

Troll attempts? I just don’t think us Husker fans appreciate how much Iowa fans fear Dakota schools. Are you saying that you consider them more of a challenge then Nebraska?

More just attempts to put things in perspective. Obviously we suck this year, no one rational is arguing otherwise. Maybe we're arguing we don't suck as bad as it seems like we do, but whatever. Just making sure you understand that while you do have some things to gloat about at the moment, it's really not that much.

Starting in '04 this is the worst stretch for Nebraska in the modern era, with the 2 worst coaches in recent memory. It's also been Iowa's best stretch since the 50's. Since '04, Nebraska is 112-74, Iowa is 115-69 - Iowa just passed Nebraska for wins over that stretch this year with our atrocious start to the year. So yeah, you've pounded us a couple years and might this year as well, enjoy it while it lasts! And keep in mind your current level of success matches up pretty well with the worst period in Nebraska's modern history.

Cool.

2006 your two P5 teams went 8-16

2007 your two P5 teams went 5-19

2008 your two P5 teams went 11-14

2009 your two P5 teams went 15-11 (whoa!)

2010 your two P5 teams went 12-13

2011 your two P5 teams went 12-14

2014 your two P5 teams went 8-17

2015 your two P5 teams went 12-14

One SINGLE year that your big bad mighty P5 opponents had a winning record.

The two years we played two P5 teams they went 20-6 and 17-9, respectively (counting BYU in this), and our marquee non-con opponent each year is usually at the very least a prestigious program and at best a highly ranked at the time of playing them team.

I guess scheduling Pitt is better than scheduling San Jose State considering you play Iowa State, but I don't think you've realized that 90% of the teams you play in the non conference are garbage teams. Not quite as garbage as Nebraska this year, admittedly, but this is just one of many reasons that people don't take you seriously nationally. Your administration completely refuses to schedule anything marquee or with high odds of being quite difficult.

Iowa State is a Power 5 team by definition alone.  If the Big 12 imploded, they would be a Mountain West school and not a great one.  We could schedule Kansas every year and skip scheduling a MAC or Sun Belt team and it would literally be no different.  So boasting that you have a fierce yearly rivalry with "Power 5" Iowa State isn't exactly fooling anyone.

Iowa has been to one B1G Championship Game.  This does not constitute the West "[going] through Iowa."  Iowa is what it is, which is an above-average program (7.5 wins per season under Kirk Ferentz) that strings together a double-digit win season every several years.
