Mavric
I say yes because people were blaming Pelini for everything and would have insisted that there was a toxic environment that was devoid of talent. Plus, Riley was Eichorst's guy (and Pearlman was still here) so there was no way he was gone after one year. 3 1 Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
Yes. Anyone that says otherwise...well...I guess is entitled to their opinion. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
He would make it through the season to the next but the vibe around these parts would be much different imo 1 Quote Link to comment
TheSker
Yes he would have lasted. Though Perlman might have retired even earlier. Quote Link to comment
Landlord
Yes. Firing a coach after one season for on the field performance would be incredibly disastrous and set us back way more years than that one bad one. Anyone working as an AD at that level would know that. 3 Quote Link to comment
Redux
He could have went 0-12 and he still would have been coach here the following year. But year two, he would have been gone by loss three in my opinion. Quote Link to comment
WyoHusker56
I mean he went 3-3 in the first 6 games with a loss to Illinois and barely beating Southern Miss. It felt like an 0-6 season and he survived, so I say yes. He would have had a shorter leash than Frost the next year though. 1 Quote Link to comment

However, if he started last year 0-6, he wouldve been fired immediately rather than getting to finish the season. Quote Link to comment

As it played out Moos was pretty clear he wasn't going to make an in season fire Quote Link to comment
LaunchCode
Doubt it. If on the other hand several highly rated players left the program and he went 0-6 then I'm not as confident he or Eichorst survive. Quote Link to comment
gobiggergoredder
He took over a 9-3 squad. Frost inherited a dumpster fire. I think it’s a reach to try and draw comparisons. Eichorst wouldn’t fire the guy he just hired. 4 Quote Link to comment

broganreynik
My answer depends on how many of the remaining games the team won. If it’s 0-12, I don’t think he would last. It was such a head-scratching hire in the first place; I’d have to think boosters would make their feelings known. Quote Link to comment
lo country
Yes. Even though he shouldn't have been hired to begin with..... Ironically, he'd have been safe for many of the same reasons our new HC (If not named Frost) would be. New conference for the staff, talent, new scheme, new staff, new DC/OC/Position coach in "X" years etc...... We hired Riley....I still shake my head. Quote Link to comment

We beat one team with a winning record in 2014, the all powerful...drum roll....Rutgers! I thought everyone realized exactly who we really were after the 35 point loss to Wisconsin. A 9 win imposter. Just think if SF had a similar schedule this season. 3 Quote Link to comment
