I wouldn't say that diminishes the value of the award, however.  I mean, Adolf Hitler was TIME magazine's Person of the Year in 1938.  My point is, sometimes they make poor decisions because of all the strain associated with the decision! ;)

Hitler actually blitzed too often.

 

I don't know this for an absolute fact but I would guess the football term "blitz"  originated from the blitzkrieg. That Hitler, what a defensive innovator.

Yeah, but the Person of the Year doesn’t necessarily go to the best person, just the person who had the largest effect on the year.

 

By comparison, Diaco very well could have won it last year.
