Not necessarily.....depending on how it’s done and if Americans would use it. Americans are in love with their cars though. it would cut down on the need to keep expanding air travel and ultimately might cut down on interstate road maintenance. Link to comment

I still think, on a smaller scale, that a train from Omaha to Lincoln would make a killing during the week and on game day. But do kids have a better learning experience in a class of 10, or a class of 30? Are kids more successful when a variety of electives are available like industrial tech, music, and art? Do kids learn more when curriculum is up to date and technology is accessible? These are money problems. That said, sometimes kids are just s#!tty, and the generally come from s#!tty families... Although if we actually wanted to focus on an infrastructure revolution (I just coined that team #trademark) it would take a significant rearrangement of revenue and probably increased taxes somewhere; whether that's income, corporate, or consumption. Education and infrastructure are the two biggest things I would like to see us invest in. Every candidate pays them lip service, but rarely does anything to support them They will require significant contribution from the government but in the long run they would likely pay for themselves. It puts more money in the hands of the middle/working class (the people who actually stimulate and drive the economy), and it creates a better environment for commerce. An educated population is never a bad thing, we've seen the effects of cutting funding for education. It's time to correct that mistake. @teachercd I think it's six of one half dozen the other. Yes, you need the family to support children in order for them to truly thrive, but you also need a safe and clean place they want to be during the day. You need teachers who care and are duly compensated for their time and effort. And you don't need stupid things like banning them from prom or field trips because they went into debt just to eat lunch, or defunding failing school (that's just idiotic). I know I really wanted to teach, but there is no way I would be comfortable living on that salary. Quite a few of my teachers growing up had second jobs, and my ex had one too when she became a teacher. You guys sacrifice a lot of time and what you do is very important, I think it should be compensated better than it has been. 1 Link to comment
