SouthLincoln Husker
Same issues as years past, too many strike outs. Quote Link to comment

Apathy
Erstad needs to stop scheduling teams like Oregon State who are on an entirely higher level than us. I understand why he does it but until he has a team that can compete at that level, just stop. Right now we just look like fools year after year trying to compete at said level and get humiliated. HuskersNC949597
Nebraska beat teams like Arkansas and Oregon State early in Erstad's career. Then Will Bolt left. Hm. 1 Quote Link to comment

It was actually a good time to schedule the Beavs. OSU lost a lot of their position players from last year's national championship team and fans worried about whether or not the new guys could hit. The pitching is good on paper, but the hitting has been in question. Thus far, however, it's looked pretty good. Quote Link to comment

Then Will Bolt left. Hm. Been saying this for years. And there should have been zero reason to not keep Bolt—we had the money, as Erstad is taking a pittance to keep quality pitching/hitting coaches for a long time. Even still, we’ve seen that we don’t have a quality replacement for Bolt for some time, and that’s on Erstad. Frankly, if Erstad is shown the door at the end of this season (seat has got to be warm at least), I’d expect Bolt to have first right of refusal on the HC job. 1 Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
Yeah, this was a disappointing sweep, and out of four games and 36 innings, we were able to hang for about nine. Maybe 16 if you want to be generous. If we don't come out of Frisco with at least two wins...well, it would be wise to start questioning what we'll actually accomplish this season. And if you come to the conclusion that we won't sniff a B1G Championship and NCAA berth (and win or two), then the next logical question is whether or not it's worth keeping Erstad on the payroll. Definitely needs to be looked at. Compete against Tech, and beat Sam Houston St and Miss State. 1 Quote Link to comment

And that result would align us with doing jack and squat in the postseason. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hitting was suspect, but we got the W. Now let’s see if we can get a game where all three phases of our game show up against Sam Houston and Mississippi State. Quote Link to comment
