Toe
If geographic proximity were the main criteria for a rivalry, K-State and KU would've been our rivals in the Big 8/Big 12. 1 1 1 Quote Link to comment

BartonHusker
Kansas State could’ve become a decent rivalry. In the late 90’s and early 00’s they started to become the thorn in our sides. They were more of a “Colorado” type rivalry. Kansas on the other hand just never reached anywhere close to a rivalry. Right or wrong there have been the historical issue of so many Nebraska fans being closet KU basketball fans. KU with football was the great game to fill up their stadium with those who couldn’t get home tickets and casually tailgate/party in Lawrence knowing a victory was coming. Oklahoma was our rival but we were a rivalry out of great respect to them. Texas IS their hated rival and they also had Oklahoma State. Bedlam has become a much bigger deal to them. Iowa State, much like Kansas State made more sense to be our natural rival but they were just a bottom feeder. Nationally KSU/ISU aren’t given as much respect as KU/Iowa from the masses. In the end Iowa is really the only school that riles me up on multiple levels. A ballgame doesn’t need to happen to make me fell that way. 2 Quote Link to comment

huskerfan74
We have not beaten Iowa since 2014 in an overtime game. It has been five straight losses since then with two of those losses being a beat down. So, the real question here is whether Iowa considers us a rival and not vice versa. We have a lot of excellent football to play to make up for the last two decades of free falling into oblivion. Let us hope this year is the start. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Just ask Michigan Wolverine fans. Ohio State has won every game but one since 2004 against Michigan, but it's considered the best rivalry out there (that's still around--Nebraska/Oklahoma was bigger). 1 3 Quote Link to comment
CAHusker
Seriously, who give a s#!t who our rivalry is? Let's just get our team in order, then maybe we can worry about it. 3 Quote Link to comment

But, but, but....the Wolverines went 10-2-1 between 1988 and 2000. I keep having to recall ancient history to feel better. oh how I miss John Cooper. Quote Link to comment
