I think we would have had a better answer about Solich longer term. He hasn't won a conference championship in 14 years at Ohio. How much more time does he need? Quote Link to comment
r06ue1
Hmm, Solich or Callahan? I think I'd take another ten years of Solich over the Callahan error any day. Quote Link to comment

If I could go back and change it I’d still like to see what would have happened the next couple years with Pelini as DC. Quote Link to comment

I think it's pretty likely that our defense would have improved. And that might have been enough to win quite a few games. But I think our offense was in the tank. Eric Crouch masked a lot of offensive short-comings and when we didn't have a QB who could win games by himself, we were struggling to score against decent teams. Yards per Play: 2001 - Offense: 6.2, Defense 4.2 2002 - O: 5.4, D: 5.0 2003 - O: 4.9, D: 4.4 So the defense got quite a bit better in 2003 but the offense was still falling like a rock. The defense being better helped us win the games against bad teams but we got blown out by the good teams because our offense was bad. Quote Link to comment
