Did we just offer? Seems like a pretty late offer for someone with his rating. Did he have some academic work to do first?

Possible, or we just now got to know him better with this being the cousin of Noa Pola-Gates.

May have offered to convince Noa Pola-Gates to come, and/or maybe Fair can't make it for winter (I'm only guessing).

True but usually the offer to appease a recruit isn’t a player that is just as good in a position of need!   I’m excited. Let’s get them both!!!!

Not sure about academics but he did miss most if last year with an injury and had to sit out the first 5 games this year because of transferring.

It seems like the staff pulls in these late offers.  It almost feels like something changes and at this late date coaches have reason to think it is worth the time to offer.

If we get his cousin, I think we get him.  Doesn't he already have a cousin coming here as well?  3 family members, all athletes at NU.

Possibly, but his brother is on the team at USC and his uncle Troy Polamalu went to USC.

In that case, he needs to blaze his own trail and follow his heart to NU.

That's all they're looking for, as it gets the freshman a year to develop before being thrown into the rotation.

What do we have at NT currently? Daniels and then Piper coming in? We kind of need another Fr. I am surprised they are "passing" on Fair.

What position does the Elder Daniels play?  We also have a transfer from Utah that will be a Sr. this year.

Guess brother needs to pony up and use the transfer option

Nose tackle as well.  Him coming in moves a David out to de which is a better fit.  I’m shocked if we actually pass on fair who is another able body

It would be amazing to get s few Polynesian players on the team.  They are a very close group and adding 2 would really help our chances with others moving forward.

That doesnt help after this season though. If you bring in Fair you give yourself a JR in 2019 and a SR in 2020 instead of having Daniels a So and Piper a Rs FR going into 2020 as your NT depth

From my understanding, the game plan is to get Nash and it's possible he'll be your starter from day one in 2020.

Bold on their part considering he's not committed and I'd hope Daniels will have progressed enough in two years to hold on to that starting position.

Absolutely. Though right now, I would not bet against this staff when they identify their top target. It's pretty fun to watch them work.

Also a bold move to think that a junior in high school is a better player than anyone in your lockeroom currently.  I’m not sure I believe this one...

I wouldn't say he is better right now by any means. He does have the measurables  and is a top 4 heavyweight wrestler nationally as a sophomore which is desirable for D linemen. If he has the head and continues his upward trajectory he could be a beast.

I live in the Sioux Falls area and have watched Nash wrestle a couple times, he does not look his age... dude is a grown man and from what I’ve seen a pretty nice kid. Honestly as strong and disciplined as he is I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start as a true freshman.

Visit is in the works of being set up.

He apparently had some academic issues but he has made up a bunch of ground and should be good to go.

Clouse mentioned many have noted his film was not that impressive but he apparently was coming off an injury and had to miss 6 games due to transfer rules.

HOL guys think we are trending in the right direction with him and Noa.

I couldnt agree more Ulty!!  Plus NU can offer four seasons and prepare him for the cold weather reality in the NFL!
