Its been made clear he was not involved in the actual event but his decision to send that video (if what is being reported is accurate) is an incredible example of poor judgement by someone and I don't believe this can be just chalked up to age and a young person making a mistake. I'll also be very interested to see how the coaching staff handles this on top of any legal punishment. I'll be upfront in admitting I have no idea if Frost ran into any of these types of situations at UCF and how he responded but he has consistently preached the importance of leaders both on the field and off and molding young adults into people of character. From a distance, this situation reeks of someone with minimal regard to others and toes the line that some rules don't apply to all. Perhaps I am being too harsh and jumping to conclusions before all facts are known but on the surface I find this whole situation appalling and the act itself to be very disturbing. A kid who has bounced around from High School to High School and did not grow up with a solid stable family to show him the right way to act. I find it hard to be too harsh on his character. I think being at Nebraska he now has people around him who can mold his character. He did this before he came to Nebraska. I think the kid deserves the chance to be mentored by Frost and see if he can turn things around. Since he has been at Nebraska with good influences and the structure we provide. I have not heard of him getting in any trouble. I think it would be a shame to have what he has now taken away. I think it really could mold him into a good young man. Give him some punishment- a couple games at the start of the season. 3 Quote Link to comment

It’s unbearable listening to Joe “Ok” Quinn because every sentence he says has to end it with “Ok” and this past week has been unbearable with his take on this Washington situation. I dont listen to 1620. They mostly ramble. 1 Quote Link to comment
dtbugeater
All of this over a 10 second video. The kind that almost every current hs student has and has shared. Not saying it it is ok, just that this practice is very common in high schools today. Quote Link to comment
macroboy
People need to stop saying this is something every high school kid does. Sending nudes, which they shouldn't be doing, is completely different than child porn sex assault videos. Even if it was consensual it's still very different then what you are trying to rationalize it as. Just stop, it's gross. Shame. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

It's pretty common, but if you get caught serious consequences are also common. Quote Link to comment

Ok but saying child porn makes this sound way worse than it actually is would you not agree? While it is child porn in the legal sense there is a difference between this and what you would typically think of when you hear 'child porn'. As I've consistently stated, what Washington did was wrong make no mistake. But it all comes down to fitting the punishment for the crime. 3 2 Quote Link to comment

It's gross that you're attempting to oversimplify this and ignore relevant details. a) He likely didn't know it was a video of an alleged sex assault. No one else viewing it, including the police and the school, seems to have come to the conclusion it was a video of sex assault. b) Even the law differentiates between the punishments for child porn depending on how old you are in many states (including Nebraska, btw). I'm sorry if this rationalization is gross to you, but an 18 year old having a video of his ex girlfriend when she was 15 that he received when he was 16 is not the same as a 60 year old having child porn videos of 8 year olds. But you're lumping them together by saying it's gross to add nuance to the discussion and that "child porn sex assault" should be the end of it. 10 2 Quote Link to comment

Everything is so oversexualized now to the point that kids are becoming desensitized to it if parents/guardians/etc arent talking about it and taking control of it when they are young. If you are not talking about and explaining things to your kids when they are young about things of this nature and letting them know whats right and wrong you need to get started. Its up to parents/guardians/etc to get stuff like this changed because tv, movies, social media, etc are not going to get any better and you dont want them to be your kids teachers or moral compass. 1 Quote Link to comment
