Maurice Washington Faces Charges

Recommended Posts

So it appears she reached out to him and kept talking to him and he stopped responding? Is that what everyone gathered? Then he sent the video after she kept messaging him? Seem like he just wanted her to leave him alone however stupid he actually was sending the video of what they think was of the incident? Is that right?

I think it was the other way around considering she blocked him on instagram, so he then texted her the video. But it sounds like she did reach out to him initially.

I mean she said he was making sexual advances but I dont see any of that? I see she reached out to him and said what's up stud? Then after a few exchanges he didnt reply it looked like? Hard to tell with all the redactions in parts.

Regardless the fact that this is a felony is asinine

I think I said this really early on when this thread first started - he could have gotten his point across to her in exactly the same way by just saying, "Hey, remember that time you _______?" And it's interesting because when you think about it that way, it really flies in the face of all of the posters saying that what he did was so incredibly heinous.

It would have had roughly the same effect as actually sending the video. Not exactly the same, but roughly. I think what @Moiraine and others have been saying sounds correct - that he wasn't under the impression she had been raped. It seems like the context is that getting contacted by her opened up some stuff for him that he didn't want to drag out again; the emotions of being dumped by an ex, etc., etc.

Honestly it seems like this type of thing probably happens at every HS in America. Not to mention we could probably confiscate every HS boy's cell phone the day they turn 18 and hit them with Child Porn for images they have of their current/ex girlfriends. This is an extreme misuse of that law and undermines the real reason that law was put into place.

Mo made a lot of poor decisions here, but sending a video of someone his age, during some teenage romantic drama shouldn't be a felony - it should be a slap on the wrist and windsprints until he learns how to make better decisions.

EDIT: I want to make clear, I assume Mo didn't think the video was an assault, judging from the context provided by the documents above.

They weren’t the same age. She was a minor and he wasn’t. So maybe throw in some burpees too.
