But seriously, the auto correct function on my phone and tablet are WAY out of control. These things completely make up words I am not typing. It's not mild adjustments for typos, it's like it's trying to tell a completely different story. Ive been spending so much time going back to correct posts before hitting submit, I'm starting to just let stuff go. Kinda frustrating. Oughta and outta is just minor. Quote Link to comment

Interesting statement from the victim on the sherrifs report when she was asked if she wanted to persue charges against the alleged rapist(s). 2 1 Quote Link to comment

And it really seems like the girl isn’t too bothered by it but her mother doesn’t want the police talking to the daughter because she’s too fragile and “recovering”. Once again, the claims get more serious after the mother finds out. I missed this part but at some point she recovered enough to talk to the local TV station. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/University-of-Nebraska-Football-Player-Maurice-Washington-Faces-Revenge-Porn-Child-Porn-Charges-Over-Video-of-Bay-Area-Teen-505666711.html?akmobile=o Since the beginning, I've wondered if Mo wasn't a "star football player", would he be in any trouble? None of this is meant to deflect from what Mo did. *jibe, BTW 1 1 Quote Link to comment

But in my defense, according to Merriam Webster, jive has been commonly misused for jibe since it was introduced in the 1920's. So I'm not alone Quote Link to comment

Seems almost like R01 and V01 are trying to capitalize on #metoo with going after a "star" football player, when the "true criminals" are not being pursued. 3 Quote Link to comment

I used jive the other day and about two hours later I was wondering why I didn't use jibe which I knew was correct. I think someone already quoted me so I didn't correct it. In my defense, I was tired. Quote Link to comment

I don't think the motivations of the victim and her mother will factor much into Mo's defense. He did something stupid and will be held accountable for it. Mo's attorney did say this so maybe it will Quote The communications between these two young people are yet to be fully determined, and there are additional facts and circumstances that give context and perspective to this situation. 1 Quote Link to comment
jimmy1
I still don't think Washington should play until process has been done. Good or bad. Back in the day any player on Nebraska would have sit until proven guitly or not. Especially for a bonehead move like distributing child porn. 1 Quote Link to comment

Cutting class costs one point on the Osborne scale; a felony conviction costs five. Skipping a practice is three points, and committing a criminal misdemeanor is four. And he has been a font of second chances for players and ex-players, including Muhammad, whose eligibility is up but who has retained his scholarship and works as an undergraduate coach. Muhammad was involved in a fight at a Lincoln hotel last year in which Nebraska defensive back Ramone Worthy was stabbed. Moiraine
The thing that annoys me the most about this whole thing is child porn laws are meant to protect kids, and this incident is not evidence that Washington is pedophile or that he’s gonna go around pursuing 15 year olds as an adult. She was his ex girlfriend, he was 15/16 when he got the video. I would be okay with some kind of legal punishment, like for the revenge porn, but there needs to be something different than being registered as a sex offender for the child porn charge when it’s already highly unlikely the person is going to do the same thing again. 4 Quote Link to comment
