At best they were lazy and made someone’s action look way worse than it was thru their laziness. That doesn’t make them much better in my eyes and I think it’s less likely than them purposely leaving it out and trying to make it sound worse because it’s more grabby to write it that way. I didn't say it's any better, and I'm not defending poor journalism. You can think it's less likely, but I disagree. People are far more likely to be lazy or inept at their job than conniving IMO, but there's certainly an incentive for more views and clicks (follow the money) that shouldn't be overlooked. Skeptic
Name other universities that allow a player charged with a felony to remain on the team until the trail. According to the papers I read on line a WI player was charged with a felony and was not only dismissed from the team but from the university for a year. After a jury after only 30 minutes of deliberation found him not guilty he was reinstated as a student and the team. Washington is playing because "He is the only back with enough speed to get to the edge". Quote Link to comment

I'm sure there are loads of examples of other players staying on teams, probably in this topic. Happy hunting. 2 Quote Link to comment

That Wisconsin player could also now seek damages from the University under the same Title IX laws he was prosecuted under. (according to a Title IX conference I went to this summer) 1 2 Quote Link to comment

Just a guess, but maybe the difference is because anyone not intellectually dishonest can see that the child pornography is a BS charge 1 1 1 Quote Link to comment

Skeptic
The point is not some fan's opinion if the charge is bogus or not. The DA has legal and moral obligation not to charge unless he is certain a crime has been committed. Does not anyone from the AD and HC care about the reputation of the school? What about the President of the school? The latest US News has NE at the bottom of the academic ranking in the BIG. This Washington episode does not help. NE is more than its football team.
