Maurice Washington Faces Charges

My thought was Mo should be suspended for the first game this year to let him know that what he has done is wrong, and he deserves some type of punishment while the case is on-going.  The University decided on a 1/2 game suspension, so me and the University have similar opinions.

While I am not excusing what Mo did, I think the felony charge is only that strong due to some oddly-worded California laws, along with timing of when Mo became an "adult".

But the problem is the University didn't say why he was suspended.  So like someone said 86 pages ago, we are left to speculate.

And I agree that the felony charge in this instance is too harsh.

If South Alabama can coax a middle finger out of Mo I’m not particularly looking forward to seeing what the Folsom Field scumbags are capable of

They weren’t the same age. She was a minor and he wasn’t. So maybe throw in some burpees too.

Why is everyone who wants Mo to play, no questions asked constantly using imprisonment as an excuse when I and other are simply saying he shouldn’t play until it’s resolved and aren’t bringing up jail once?

I doubt very seriously there would have been so many delays asked for by his attorneys if sitting the whole season was on the table.

As for the case case getting dismissed, They have all his phone, internet and apple records, and the parents of the girl saved all the communications, I’m not a lawyer but that doesn’t sound like a potential dismissal.

Boy, you really are a piece of work. It's been covered ad nauseum but you still refuse to get it. You leave us no choice but to assume you are incapable of understanding anything beyond your own malformed opinion. Please find something else to do, preferably elsewhere.

This is exactly where I’m at. Mo could sit out a couple games for all I would have cared, that’s up to Frost. But to throw out the harshest penalty to a person not in the video, didn’t film the video and wasn’t the one who mass distributed the video is pretty weak. Using the timing of the situation to throw a felony at him, because he was being a douche at that moment, doesn’t seem like the proper justice in this situation.

Thinking that a player shouldn't play football until a felony charge is resolved is not a malformed opinion.  You may disagree with it, but that doesn't make it malformed.

Couple that with two other players indefinitely suspended with no charges, or an explanation, and golly it’s just a baffler why people are talking.

Looking at this situation blindly as a felony charge is malformed

You could assume the suspended players did something that elicited a stronger punishment.

Not all felonies are created equally here, plus it's likely that Mo's attorneys are doing everything they can to get the felony charge dropped.

You are correct. Malformed was the wrong way to put it. It’s a valid opinion to have.

The thing that gets me is he keeps asking questions (that have been answered numerous times) about why people feel differently than he does. There’s about 4 options as to why he doesn’t get it. I can’t say what 3 of those options are without being reprimanded. But I’m done because this topic is a waste of time until some actual new information comes out. He’s playing and it appears he will be playing until something else happens. So I guess the people that don’t like that can mope and whine all they want.

Hold on everyone.. just wait a minute while I clliiimmb up heerree on my high horse..... I think the University should turn in its NC trophies from the 90's because TO played some guy who attempted murder, a woman beater and probably a bike thief or two.  Mo Washington should be chained and shackled for what he did and never touch a football again!!!

The Huffington Post has a story that is very similar to Maurice's.  Maryland has a law similar to the one Maurice is battling.  A high school student distributed a video of herself engaging in a sex act to two friends.  She was charged with distributing child porn and was convicted in juvenile court.  The case went to the Maryland Supreme Court and they affirmed the conviction.  Again, she was convicted for distributing a video of herself and she was still a minor herself and the act was consensual.

No one is saying that.

Interestingly though, every player you referenced served a multi game suspension. Some for only misdemeanors.
