What's good about the Big Ten: No league in America has more depth than the Big Ten, which means it puts together competitive matchups most nights. Penn State, Northwestern, Indiana, Rutgers and Nebraska -- the bottom five teams in the league entering the week -- have 11 wins against teams ranked in the top 50 of KenPom. Plus, the league boasts a strong collection of stars such as Ethan Happ, Carsen Edwards, Cassius Winston, Iggy Brazdeikis, Romeo Langford and Ayo Dosunmu to carry the brand. The Big Ten has put last season's four-bid season behind it.

So interesting to compare the league this year to last. We really need to pick up a win tonight. If we do, we'll have a legit shot at an at large berth still.

For those interested in the rankings:

1. ACC

2. B1G

3. Big 12

4. SEC

5. Big East

6. American

7. PAC 12

The ACC could have Duke, UNC & Virginia and 12 schools that are below .500 and ESPN would rank them as the best conference.  They will probably have 6 teams that finish the season at or below .500 with no "good" wins, but somehow that's better than the B1G.

I'm not sure the Pac 12 deserves to be included as a "power" conference anymore.

Agreed.  The ACC is really strong at the top, but really really weak at the bottom.  Big Ten and SEC and crazy deep this year.  I would have SEC solidly above the Big 12 this year, they are fine but not great.  Big East is having a down year, but still going to get 4 maybe 5 in.  AAC is atrocious at the bottom which inflates the top team records.  The Pac is not much better than the A10, WCC or Mountain West this year and haven't been a very good conference in a while.
