Mavric
Quote Panel members approved a tweak to the overtime rules. If a game reaches a fifth overtime, teams will run alternating two-point plays, instead of starting another drive at the opponent’s 25-yard line. This rules change was made to limit the number of plays from scrimmage and to bring the game to a conclusion. Additionally, there will be a two-minute rest period after the second and fourth overtimes. The rules for the first four overtimes remain unchanged. NCAA.com 1 Quote Link to comment

ZRod
This seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, and a total whiff on the actual complaints. Quote Link to comment

An average of 6 games per year go past two overtimes, which is the point where 2 point conversions are required. This change has an almost zero effect on the grand scale. Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
I’m just glad they fixed this huge problem and kicked the wildly disparate and usually unfair applications of the targeting rule down the road to a later date. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Toe
As long as we ain't switching to anything like the NFL's retarculous sudden death OT rules, I'm OK with it. 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I’m fine with the change even if it rarely happens. Quote Link to comment
Notre Dame Joe
Following the LSU-ATM game on social media was one of the highlights of the season. What wasn't broke doesn't need fixing. 1 Quote Link to comment

Gage County
I bet this rule change has more to do with the broadcast companies not wanting an overtime running well into the 2nd quarter of the following game. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
Frostberg
The guys calling the games get pissed when it goes into OT because they can miss their fights back home. Can't remember how I know this, Real Sports maybe. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
If it hardly ever happens, why are fans upset about the rule change? Quote Link to comment
