I only caught the 2nd half. I thought France looked a lot better except at the most important part of the game.

Listening to the commentary after, it sounds like the US's gameplan was to allow France to control possession, because they are uncomfortable with possession and prefer to counter attack?

Sounds like a philosophy I once heard about from a coach called “Bend Dont Break”. (aka making an excuse

for poor play ny acting like it was your plan all along)

Except in the this case the US coach had said before the game that France didn't like having possession.

Yeah....probably one of the best women's soccer players ever for the England Women's team doesn't have a problem with it and thought it was funny.

 

I thought it was pretty dang great.
