This trip is huge for this team. Any actual games they can play is only going to help them gel as a team and understand what Fred wants.

What's the reason for Yvan not being able to go?

Playing with the French national team right now.

It just so happens that I will be in Rome on August 5th. So as the saying goes, when in Rome, go support the Huskers. Looking forward to seeing Hoiberg coach his first Neb “game”.

Fred Hoiberg already sees the flaws.

The communication isn’t there. The defensive effort at times is absent. The team is really, really small. Hoiberg — back in the college game after three seasons with the Chicago Bulls — was frustrated with early practices last week.

“I can pretty much promise you, anybody who is at this stage of the game right now that’s preparing for a trip or going through the workouts, in their early stages, (they) walk away from the court a lot of times pissed off because you have too many turnovers and you’re sloppy,” Hoiberg said

Time to select one of our followers to take one for the team and travel over to Italy - i'm sure one of these phone apps will be able to get us some good footage.

On a somewhat related note- Houston is going to Italy this year too and will be playing 2 of the same teams the Huskers are playing (Italian Select and Stella Azzurra Academy). I’ll be curious to compare Nebraska’s results to theirs- they lost Corey Davis and Armani Brooks from last year but add a top 150 kid and 5* transfer from KU to this years team and were a 3 seed in the NCAA tournament last year.

Here’s Sampson on why Italy:

Apparently Arop didn't get his passport in time to travel so he's not on the trip.  The OWH says "paperwork", but the only paperwork he should need is a passport.

Really like what I've seen from Banton. Wish he was eligible this year
