No we got into this mess by working with him. And by working with him I mean the dems conceding everything to him in order  to say they worked with the republicans.

We will need to get back to a place in American politics when the different political parties are full of reasonable people who, if they don't agree, at least they can work together to get things done, find common ground, compromise if needed, and at least agree on basic American values. I hope that happens soon. I will gladly vote for politicians who embrace that philosophy, regardless of party. But it is not happening now, not with the putrescence that exists among Republican leadership. First those guys need to be flushed out, defeated, destroyed.

You realize you sound exactly like the Tea Party nut jobs right? That's what I'm talking about. What did the Dems concede? When you absolutely refuse to work with the other party you end up where we are today.

What are you talking about? The dems have been trying to work with McConnell.  Why do you think the right wing has moved even further right? Because the dems keep moving right to work with them.  What did they concede? Well a supreme court nominee for one.  McConnell came out and said his best moment in congress is when he told Obama "Mr. President, you will NOT get to pick a SC Justice."  Im not sure what else you want the dems to do besides grow a back bone and stand up and fight.  Keep moving more right til we have alt-right and right?

What should the Democrats have done differently when it comes to the Supreme Court pick?

There is nothing you can do.  That's my point.  There is no working with this person.  But I guess some folks would like to so by all means.  Lets see where this country goes when dems try and work with Graham and McConnell instead of fighting for their position.

Is that what I said?

Dude, your original proposal was more of the same, more obstruction. Where does that lead us? More division, more separation, more extremes. I don't care that Mitch is a verifiable pieces of s#!t, he's stuck there for now until something changes. Find some common ground somewhere and get a few things done if at all possible. If nothing can be found then propose real, honest legislation for the nation's issues and when he refused to play ball ratchet up the PR blitz until he breaks or get voted out. This country needs people to fight for compromise again, not more division.

You said they conceded a Supreme Court nominee and implied they didn’t fight.

That makes no sense if there was nothing they could do.

Obama and the Democrats did not fight and openly extended the Bush Tax cuts when they expired. Obamacare was designed to appease the Republicans from the get-go (it's true, although neither side wants to admit it), and in the wake of the 2008 financial meltdown, Obama and the Democrats were quick to assure Wall Street they would play ball with bail-outs and toothless regulations. Obama either maintained or appointed several Republicans to key jobs. Merrick Garland was a judicial centrist and respected mentor of Chief Justice John Roberts.

And somehow Barack Obama remained a lying African socialist megalomaniac.

I jsut saw the funniest tweet - that Beto was auditioning for "Most embarrassing dad at a Mexican Restaurant" last night.

Yeah...he buried himself with that mess!

And that tweet is AWESOME!

But you know what, he shot his shot and you gotta give him credit for that.

And, they should remain the party that shows they are trying to work together.  They should NOT be running the other direction becoming the opposite side of the same coin.

I agree.  I mean if theres one thing that people really get excited about in this country its the status quo! Status quo Joe! Status quo Joe!

Right on que with what Ive been saying in this thread. Pelosi conceding to Mitch McConnell like the dems always do. No fight. Weak. God help those children.

At least there is hope for the future with some dems who want to actually fight the republicans.
