Paula Deen’s Deep Fried Chicken/Pics

Recommended Posts

I made Paula Deen’s fried chicken recipe the other night and it turned out great!  I will only make fried chicken this way from now on!  I like that I can prep it ahead of time so all I have to do is fry it when it’s time.

Heat oil in your deep-fat fryer according to directions.

3 Eggs
1/3 Cup Water
***Used Bottle Water
1 Cup Texas Pete Hot Sauce
2 Cups Self Rising Flour
1 Tsp. Pepper
***I Used More
House Seasoning, Recipe Below
Used Chicken Breasts/Legs/Wings
Peanut Oil
***Used Vegetable Oil Because That Is What I Had

House Seasoning:

1 Cup Salt
1/4 Cup Black Pepper
1/4 Cup Garlic Powder

In a bowl, mix all of the House Seasoning ingredients together.

Put the House Seasoning in a shaker by the stove for convenience.

In a medium-size bowl, beat the eggs with the water and Pete’s Hot Sauce.

In a Tupperware container, add the flour and pepper.

Season chicken with House Seasoning-(to taste); add to  flour mixture.

***NOTE:  You will NOT use all of the Seasoning. it it will be way too salty!  Just shake some in!!

Put lid on and shake to coat the chicken well.  You may have to do a few chicken pieces at a time, depending on the size of chicken pieces you are using.

Put chicken in basket; lower it.

Fry chicken according to your deep-fat fryer instructions.

Put chicken on a paper towel/lined plate when done.
