Saunders
Quote The series has generated plenty of discussion by fans as to whether it is a rivalry. Many in Nebraska view Oklahoma as the program’s one equal combatant, and Iowa doesn’t measure up historically. Many Hawkeye fans are content with rivals Iowa State, Minnesota and Wisconsin and loathe the Cornhuskers’ arrogance. “It’s probably not old enough yet to really consider it a true rivalry,” said Anthony Herron, a former Iowa player and current broadcaster for NBC Sports, the Pac-12 Network, SiriusXM and other entities. “Iowa kind of controls it right now on the field, which is cool. But historically, Nebraska has obviously been in the more championship-ridden program. “I think the two fan bases are similar enough in demographics and age and in passion that it’s fun. As the years roll by, it’s going to feel like more and more of a true rivalry.” https://theathletic.com/1084086/2019/07/23/iowa-nebraska-football-rivalry-realignment-big-ten/ 1 Quote Link to comment
Popular Post knapplc
Man, that "arrogance" has to be so hard for an Iowa fan to hear from Nebraska fans. I mean, everyone knows that if the roles were reversed and Iowa had five championships and was considered a pillar of the sport, they would NEVER talk about their past accomplishments, and would only be content to live in the now. They would not be arrogantly pointing out their program's history. Heck, they'd probably very politely just forget any of that ever happened. Yep. That's for sure what they'd do. 8 2 4 Quote Link to comment
Fru
In the same breath, Iowa fans will hype Nile Kinnick’s Heisman speech, then tell Nebraska fans to “stop living in the past” 4 Quote Link to comment

Hand it to Iowa, they have done an excellent job not letting those championships get out of control 1 3 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
The number of signes today focused on one school - and the lack of signs for almost any others - would seem to give an indication of what people think. Quote Link to comment
