WalksBehindtheRows
I'll admit, these numbers are staggering. I know some of the smaller stadiums in the Big 10 bring down our average a bit but this is crazy. https://gasnsports.com/sec-football-attendance-vs-america/ Quote Link to comment
Popular Post teachercd
Those SEC attendance numbers are as accurate as dudes listed height and dong measurements. By the way...I lie about both of mine...by 12 inches. 5 7 1 Quote Link to comment
WyoHusker56
I call BS on their reported attendance numbers. Plus they benefit from having schools where it's always warm. If you factored in weather the B1G attendance is more impressive. Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_records/Attendance/2018.pdf this has the B1G 2nd in attendance with an avg of 65k Sec- 74k B1G- 65k big 12- 56k acc- 48k pac- 46k 1 Quote Link to comment
Huskers93-97
Guessing if you took the top 6 schools in each conference big 10 is way ahead. We have a couple schools over 100k Quote Link to comment
Toe
Adding Maryland and Rutgers probably brought down the B1G's average... 1 Quote Link to comment
knapplc
I know everyone in the Big Ten doesn't sell out like Nebraska, but we have the 21st largest stadium on the planet, and we're 4th in the Big Ten in stadium size. The SEC has seven stadiums larger than ours, so sure, they may have more people showing up to games than our conference, but all things considered, this is not something to feel bad about. 2 1 Quote Link to comment

We have a couple schools over 100k So does the SEC. I'm too lazy to look up actual attendance numbers (assume the link's numbers are right I guess although they don't seem to be) but here's capacity numbers: Texas A&M Capacity 102,733 //// Michigan Capacity 107,601 Alabama Capacity 101,821 //// Penn State Capacity 106,572 LSU Capacity 102,321 //// OSU Capacity 102,082 Tennessee Capacity 102,455 //// Nebraska Capacity 89,959 Georgia Capacity 92,746 //// Wisconsin Capacity 80,321 Florida Capacity 88,548 //// Michigan State Capacity 75,005 That's top 6. 3 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
Dennis Dodd ✔@dennisdoddcbs Big Ten schools had 16 of the 17 highest football attendances in '18. Texas A&M was next at No. 18. Source: NCAA. Dennis Dodd ✔@dennisdoddcbs Per NCAA, only Oklahoma, Nebraska, Georgia, Utah and Michigan finished 100%-plus in capacity in 2018. In '17, those schools were Ohio St, Penn St, Mich, Nebraska, Oregon, K-State, Okla St, Utah, Navy, Old Dominion. In the last 2 years not a single SEC team has gone over 100% capacity. The Big Ten has had 4 schools do it once and Michigan and Nebraska did it twice - and the Big Ten teams that have gone over 100% have the four largest stadiums in the conference. 3 Quote Link to comment
Husker from Kansas
The larger population in the south has to play a roll in this. They can build or add on to current stadiums and add capacity because they have the demographics to do so. If there was a large boom in the midwest and people were moving here like they are to the south, then a lot of schools in the BIG and Big XII would be in position to rise in numbers as well. I think per capita the BIG has the best turnout of all of the other conferences. But thats totally speculation Quote Link to comment
Red Five
All of these attendance numbers are fudged. Its just up to the schools how exactly they fudge them. Wasn't it 2 years ago that we actually had about 65k butts in seats for the OSU game? Quote Link to comment
