challenge for trump supporters

We're having historical prosperity right now not just by the American economy but the human race.  (of course most of the human race would have gladly swapped their lives to live in the American economy).   But no one answered.  Do you liberal Huskers want a policy of free trade that allows China to ship us low cost goods with little to no restrictions?

I'm not a "liberal Husker", so you didn't ask me.

As to the bolded, this has very little to do with anything Trump has done.  Isn't it amazing that how Trump claimed everything is an unmitigated disaster.....but within literal weeks of him being elected (not even in office) he was proclaiming how everything was doing great....because of him?

Hmmmm...how does that work?

But...just to be clear, you're obviously perfectly fine if Trump crashes our economy.  Thanks for the clarification.

we are borrowing at historical levels...of course it seems like we are having historical success with the economy.  wait till those bills come due.  they will sting a lot more than any trumper can imagine.

Let's say Trump wins reelection, and has had 8 years to negotiate with the world on things like sanctions, NATO payments, trade, etc.

What would you consider a success for Trump in his negotiations?

What do you legitimately expect him to accomplish given two terms?

You guys do know that trump's base doesn't care about this kind of stuff right? All they care about is that he makes liberals mad.

He could crash the economy, praise confederate loving neo nazis and suck off every dictator on earth, but as long as he sticks it to everyone left of the far right they don't care.

No amount of engagement with them will change their minds there not rational conservatives or even conservatives there just a$$ hats that are pumped to have someone just like them in the white house.

trumps legacy, at best, will be 'at least he tried'

Over 50% of American workers make $30,000 or less. Record debt from consumers and corporations, more so than in 2008 crash. National deficit is highest its ever been in the history of the country. 30% of the country is in collections. Stock buybacks which boosted the economy for a time after tax season are dying down. Yield curve is inverted. Trade wars. In what world are you living in is this economy the best its ever been? Because the DOW and S&P were doing well until they crashed last week? Most economists say its coming. And they say it will be worse than the last one. Great economy...

Probably nobody because the majority of politicians dont give a f#&% about the average person.

And I know where youre going with this. You want me to say Bernie will. And then you will troll me like you always do. Do I know if Bernie will fix it? No. All I know is the status quo is not working and the only democratic socialist president weve ever had (FDR) was elected four times and Republicans had to make term limits because of it and also stimulated the economy with millions of jobs with his new deal to get us out of the great depression.

Then we lose.  Nobody says success is guaranteed.  Plenty of smart well intentioned leaders did not have success, it's called history.

Btw if Trump is so wrong than why have Ds stopped calling for free trade with our best buddy China?  That was their position for the past 30 years.

So if I tell you I can make you a fortune if you let me invest $1000 of yours in the stock market - despite no business background to my name (or in Trump's case, a legitimately bad record) - and I turn around and piss it away gambling on penny stocks, you're telling me you're not going to be upset I had no idea what I was doing or why it was a bad idea and you're going to instead congratulate me for trying?

Well sign me up for my participation ribbon!

The bolded is inaccurate. The TPP wasn't promoting trade with China; it's chief objective was to do the opposite to box China in.

But yeah, being able to purchase cheap goods from China whenever I want is good as a consumer. We just have to also have a response for their misbehavior. Trump ain't it.

Bernie might finally get his shot.

I'm fine with it if he does.....but I'm fine with whomever wins.

Bernie just doesn't seem to have a plan in place to fund his policies.  Wall Street and corporate America will fight him.  Hard.

Raising minimum wage is fine.....except consumer prices will just go up to offset.
