challenge for trump supporters

Do you have an actual answer or just gonna play this game?......

I did answer it.

There are two ways to answer your question.  Obviously, if I knew of someone specific, I would have named them. However, the election is over a year away.  So, this is a point where a lot of people, instead of keying on one candidate, they eliminate people they know aren't the right answer.  So....I eliminated Trump.  That should be obvious to everyone.  However, he will have loyalists that will think he can do no wrong and everything is rosy under his Presidency.

So, my answer is, someone other than Trump.

It's a pretty simple concept actually.

Bernie might finally get his shot.

I'm fine with it if he does.....but I'm fine with whomever wins.

Bernie just doesn't seem to have a plan in place to fund his policies.  Wall Street and corporate America will fight him.  Hard.

Raising minimum wage is fine.....except consumer prices will just go up to offset.

He does have a detailed plan though. People just don't think it will work.

Bernie Sanders has been a lightening rod for people of both parties.

Joe Rogan has been a libertarian who gives nobody a free pass.

A lot of people have been talking about Bernie's appearance on Joe's show recently -- and maybe someone on Huskerboard already posted it -- but pretty much everyone willing to spend an hour with this clip has walked away saying "okay, now I get it."

I posted it in the 2020 canidates thread and encourage anyone who thinks Bernie doesn't have a plan to watch it. He comes off as extremely knowledgable about how our government works currently and what actually is possible. A great move by Bernie to get himself on an interruption free platform to promote his ideas.

You are absolutely incorrect about this. As someone who follows Joe's podcast closely, I can say 100% for sure that Joe identifies as a center-leaning liberal. Explicitly, too; not just from implied comments here and there.

I've always considered myself a Capitalist, a pragmatist, and a skeptic.

I don't think I've ever heard a politician cut as clean and quickly to the meat as Bernie Sanders. He's been remarkably consistent his entire career because the basic truths haven't changed. Can't say that about a single rival for the Presidency, as they've all made significant policy turnarounds over the years -- and in recent weeks -- as dictated by the polls and pundits.

Thanks. I had only known that many liberals considered Joe to be tough on liberals, and I always thought his voice leaned libertarian to my ear. Haven't followed his podcast closely myself, but know that some either appreciate or dislike that he's not Party minded. Libertarian is a pretty specific mindset that I sometimes grant to anyone who sounds independent.

Understandable.   :)   His extreme passion for smoking and legalizing weed is probably a large part of it (serious).

He's an interesting duck.  I don't agree with him on some major issues.  But, he is one person in politics that I firmly think he believes what he says and has spent a lot of time researching and formulating his thoughts and ideas.  I can live with that.  He doesn't come across as someone who spends time every day with consultants who watch polls and then tell him what to say in public.

I don't agree with him on some issues, but he doesn't scare me as much as many candidates.

Over 50% of American workers make $30,000 or less. Record debt from consumers and corporations, more so than in 2008 crash. National deficit is highest its ever been in the history of the country. 30% of the country is in collections. Stock buybacks which boosted the economy for a time after tax season are dying down. Yield curve is inverted. Trade wars. In what world are you living in is this economy the best its ever been? Because the DOW and S&P were doing well until they crashed last week? Most economists say its coming. And they say it will be worse than the last one. Great economy...

Good times don't last forever, the economy cycles just like the weather.  Installing Socialism doesn't prevent the bad times, it merely cuts off the good times down to Bo Pellini.
