knapplc
Quote Nebraska volleyball picked 2nd in Big Ten preseason poll The Nebraska volleyball team is picked to finish 2nd in the Big Ten in 2019 according to a preseason poll from league coaches. Wisconsin is predicted to win the conference. The 2nd ranked Huskers had three players make the preseason All-Big Ten team: Lauren Stivrins, Lexi Sun & Nicklin Hames. NU opens the season Friday August 30 at home against Creighton. 2019 PRESEASON ALL-BIG TEN VOLLEYBALL TEAM Jacqueline Quade, SR., OH, Illinois Erika Pritchard, Jr., OH, Maryland Alexis Hart, Sr., OH, Minnesota Taylor Morgan, Sr., MB, Minnesota Stephanie Samedy, Jr., OPP, Minnesota Nicklin Hames [huskers.com] , So., S, Nebraska Lauren Stivrins [huskers.com] , Jr., MB, Nebraska Lexi Sun [huskers.com] , Jr., OH, Nebraska Kaitlyn Hord, So., MB, Penn State Jonni Parker, So., RS, Penn State Kendall White, Sr., DS, Penn State Blake Mohler, Sr., MB, Purdue Sydney Hilley, Jr., S, Wisconsin Dana Rettke, Jr., MB, Wisconsin 2019 BIG TEN PRESEASON POLL 1. Wisconsin 2. Nebraska 3. Minnesota 4. Penn State 5. Illinois 6. Purdue 7. Michigan 8. Ohio State 9. Michigan State 10. Maryland 11. Indiana 12. Northwestern 13. Iowa 14. Rutgers Wisconsin will ride Rettke as far as she'll take them, and frankly she looks good enough to get them a conference championship. When she was here in Lincoln for the VNL matches, she looked like a seasoned veteran among the other Team USA players. She is dominant in the middle, and one of those players we'll have to try to work around, not stop. 1 Quote Link to comment

Rettke is a monster in the middle but Duello and Loberg aren't strong enough on the pins to win the conference. I'd flip Wisconsin and Minnesota and give Nebraska a good shot to steal it. 1 Quote Link to comment
