Ohio State denied trademark over "THE."

Arrogant for even trying. When NFL players announce that they went to THE Ohio State University, it sounds pretentious. The first time I heard it, I thought the dude was making it as a joke.

shouldn't it be "Ohio State University" or "The University of Ohio State"

when OSU comes, the PA announcer should say, "Welcome to THE University of Nebraska Cornhuskers at THE Memorial Stadium"

That sounds like a school made up for a TV show because they didn't want to license a real school.
