Rutgers fires head coach

They are making room for Greg Schiano to come back.

They pointed out on BTN yesterday the Schiano had good seasons when Rutgers was still in Big East.  He won't have those kind of seasons for a long time now that they are in the B1G, east.  Is he a better coach than Ash?  IDK but they might be losing time by switching horses.

Agree, and Rutgers doesn't have a great track record on coaching decisions.  I think Ash is lost, though. No improvement. They should compete with Indiana and Maryland types and are not.  Flood started 8-4 in the B1G10 and its tanked since. Schanio was DC at OSU....although OSUs D has improved this year under Mattison. Schiano should know what he will be up against. Rutgers should aspire to top 4 in the East, bowl eligible, 8 and 4 type seasons. I think they have more than a coaching problem however.

Can the big10 just get rid of rutgers and add Oklahoma?

Oklahoma and Kansas/Texass are forthcoming in a few years. Rutgers isn't going anywhere since it allows the BTN to get carrier fees from NJ and NY state for their channel.
