I would say 'why not?'   It would basically turn into a defacto pro sports league for all sports.   And with limited scholarships available to schools, in some sports like VB, it would make more competitive teams, basketball too.  A lot of great talent that won't ever make the NBA staying and playing 8-9 years at a school would be interesting.   I could actually see this being a benefit to some smaller schools.   Basketball player wants to go to Nebraska, they have a roster full of non-NBA talent that is making good money on endorsements, so they don't have any scholarships available, player goes to Creighton, they don't have any, he's now at UNO, making decent money on endorsements and now UNO is getting better players than they would have before, could be a win for everyone.
