The other breakout candidate for the event was Mathurin, primarily for his Sunday morning performance where he went 7-for-9 from three and scored 36 points. To go with the threes, Mathurin mixed in drives to the rim, made plays in transition and competed on both ends. Mathurin is also tremendous athlete with a lot of potential on the defensive end. While he didn’t score it at the same rate during the other event games, it was a sign of what Mathurin, a 6-foot-6 wing, is capable of.
