commando
johnny cash and art garfunkel should both be rated higher than they are. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
Roy should be like 2...Boy Dylan? Singer??? Quote Link to comment
knapplc
That Freddie Mercury isn't Top Five completely invalidates this list. Moving on... 1 Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
Great music, maybe, but as for a list of top "singers" I think they really missed the mark. 1 Quote Link to comment
HUSKER 37
What constitutes ''Top Singer''? Bob Dylan's voice usually makes me picture Floyd the Barber, but I do sorta like it's uniqueness. A few of my favourites Not listed: Willie Dixon Layne Staley Chris Cornell Sting Michael Johnson Michael McDonald Terry Kath Stevie Ray Vaughan Sade Karen Carpenter Brad Delp Ann Wilson Paul Rodgers Probably lots of opera singers that I haven't listened to...yet ... annnnd ...probably missing a few hundred more Quote Link to comment
Ulty
A lot of great names on this list that I wouldn't even begin to know how to rank. Bob Dylan may be one of the greatest artists of all time, but not a great singer per se. I love Nirvana, but Kurt Cobain was not a great singer. His grunge contemporaries from Seattle Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder are far and away better singers. Another name that popped in my head: Grace Slick. She was a powerful vocalist. Stumpy1
Brent Smith - Shinedown Aaron Lewis - Staind Matt James - Blacktop Mojo Sully Erna - Godsmack These guys could sing a phonebook and make it sound awesome. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
I love that it is Joe ****ker! Hahah! If this is literally just the ability to sing...this list sucks. If it is singing/stage presence well that changes things. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
This list makes no sense. A list of singers should be about singing ability. They didn’t even get the top 2 singers of The Beatles in the right order. I love John Lennon’s voice but there’s no way in hell he’s a better singer than Paul. And Bob Dylan is a great musical artist but doesn’t belong anywhere in the top 100. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I wouldn't put Johnny even in the top 100. Singing is such a subjective thing. I would have Freddie Mercury in the top 10 at least. People like what they like. Quote Link to comment
DevoHusker
by voice alone, Axl Rose at #64 is a travesty... Quote Link to comment
Cdog923
As has been said, Freddie Mercury anywhere outside the top 3 instantly tanks the list. Also, Prince at 30 and Mariah Carey at 70 are especially egregious. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Here's Ranker's top 10: 1. Freddie Mercury 2. Michael Jackson 3. Frank Sinatra 4. Whitney Houston 5. Elvis Presley 6. Aretha Franklin 7. Adele 8. Stevie Wonder 9. David Bowie 10. Celine Dion LINK Only three in common with the top ten of OP's list. Goes to show how subjective tastes in music are. Quote Link to comment
