He never opposed NIL, he opposed “professionalizing” college football. He doesn’t want bidding wars between schools for recruits, he doesn’t want to have a salary cap, he wants there to be student athletes instead of athletes that don’t have to attend class, and are just there to be athletes.

Not to dunk on college athletes (because, honestly, this was a long time coming... and they've been taken advantage of for quite awhile) but the last couple of days have felt like just a massive influx of tens of thousands of marginally crappy social media influencers.

And, quite honestly, if an athletes has 2,000 followers on twitter before NIL, if all they do now is this, then that number is going to go way down.
