B.B. Hemingway
That 2009 defense was one of the best in CFB history. Quote Link to comment

Husker in WI
Where'd you get the 2017 numbers? I've got 36.4/116th. But in any case, super interesting! Quote Link to comment
mnhusker
That was for me the most puzzling thing about Bo, you know he had the chops to coach a great defense but he couldn't sustain it over time as the HC. Quote Link to comment

Some guys are great coordinators (single focus). Other's are better CEO's. Bo would be a great DC IMHO. Someone else to recruit and do the day to day... Quote Link to comment

SFW
Yeah, when we could hold opponents under 20 a game we were championship caliber. All 4-3 defenses. Frost won’t be relevant until he gets that! 30 point Chinander and his 3-4 aren’t the answer. Quote Link to comment

IMO not a coincidence that the one DC hire that really worked-out since McBride was hired due to good networking and good reputation rather than prior ties. 1 Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
Playing 9 conference games probably has some impact on those numbers. Pace of play has a large impact on numbers Defense has been so inconsistent. Not as bad as it was under Riley, but there are times when they just can’t get off the field. Other times they look like a pretty solid defense. Quote Link to comment

I’m betting Chinander year 2 ends up worse than year 1 Quote Link to comment
