Still think this one is going to come back and bite us.

Yeah, this has been weird. He's picking up some good offers, so other teams don't seem to be concerned with whatever our issue was. I know requirements are different per school/conference, but I'm really curious and it's unlikely we'll ever know exactly how it played out.

you lean towards the having a negative opinion when it comes to recruiting and football in general.  Nothing wrong with that.  Just not real fun.  This is the off-season, this is the time we are the best in the west.

Ziebol is one of my favorites on this board. I got your back, Z:cheers

I think of it more as a realistic approach. The truth is recruiting isn’t really positive right now, hence why everything thing I say sounds negative. When it is going well I have a better outlook. Besides KJ and Butler, there hasn’t been much good news. I don’t view the JUCO’s besides Coates as difference makers, just bodies. My view on Hodge is that he is a better player than Mauga, his offers, ranking, and tape back that up, so when we drop him (or process) one would expect we have someone who is a better prospect waiting to hop on board. We don’t. We have an unranked JUCO who’s only other offers are SDSU and South Alabama.

Look at top of the board prospects at some pretty important positions.

OL- turner Corcoran

DL- Nash hutmacher

qb- smothers

rb- Morrison

throw in some nice prospect line conn, Betts, and Nixon who could be studs for us.

possible top candidates Committing soon.

OLb- johnson

wr-manning

possible addition of Fleming or Robinson, Jimari Butler, and a Miami dB or too.

this class is not crashing and burning.  Has a chance to be a real solid class, or it could be an exceptional class.  Guys like delancy don’t pass the offer, or star test but that dude can ball.

I wanna believe you, I really do, but I will believe the bold when I see it.  I think we are a backup plan for all 4 of Johnson, Robinson, Fleming and Manning.

Never said anything about the prospects we had. I think they are all great for this team. I think Lynum is the only reach but I trust Fish.

Betts is still not a guarantee with his eligibility, so Manning is that much more important. No he is not committing soon, he will be committing in February as he is a May graduate, and he is currently looking at the Texas schools so he is no guarantee. That leaves Nixon as the only WR committed that is guaranteed to be here. Robinson would be a great addition, but Georgia has doubled their efforts to keep him. Fleming has gone silent, he is a stud but again he is a small bodied receiver.

I also acknowledged KJ and Butler is good news. Us trending for Francois is as well. However that doesn’t mask the fact that we are offering and about to take commitments from unranked JUCOs with no other p5 offers. That doesn’t scream of finishing solid or exceptional. That is the opposite. This is going to be a very top heavy class with a very questionable finish. I’m excited for who we got but you have to look at is as a whole picture and then you will see there is a lot to be desired coming into the home stretch.

Are you ever happy?  Your posts are always depressing!

I agree we got some iffy offers here down the stretch. Honestly we need to start winning some games to do better than our standard 18-25 finish.
