Our fan base is easily distracted by the new shiny toy every year. I would take a NW defense all day over Chinander’s defense. The NW defense is fundamentally sound. 1 Quote Link to comment

Look at the size that Frost is targeting on the o-line. Minnesota was always getting big linemen. Now they are adding skilled players to go with on offense. 1 Quote Link to comment
SFW
Good stuff...really it is. Flecks advice here is all positive. Frosts slogan No Fear of Failure is a...triple negative! Quote Link to comment
mwj98
i wonder how many 5 star players they have? Also, didnt see much quit in Minny. Their interior lineman are the difference makers. The Davis brothers are atrocious. Daniels aka “ captain in 6 months” is overrated. These guys dont get any type of pressure. It all starts on the lines. We have everything around them to be a good team. But we have dealt with high snaps, busted assignments, not setting the edges and zero pressure. That should be our biggest focus this off season. Getting those interior lineman up to speed. Otherwise, get used to 4-8 and 3-9. Quote Link to comment

It takes 3 all world studs up front to be competitive. If not your linebackers and safeties are get killed by B10 lineman. Until we go back to the 4-3 the B10 will chew us up with ease. This board needs to get it out of their head that our 3-4 DL need to be anything but dudes who free up the LBs. The most tackles a Wisconsin D lineman has is 18 and the most sacks a Wisconsin D lineman has is 3. DL is so far down the list of problems on this team. 2 Quote Link to comment

Wisconsin has a the best 3-4 coach in the game. It’s completely different from the 3-4 we run. You can’t figure out who to block in Wisconsin’s scheme. It fast attacking 3-4 no fear of failure. Chinander’s scheme takes 3 all world studs. No creativity in his pass rush, with linebackers 10 yards off the ball, and safeties deep. Let’s call it the Fear of Failure 3-4. Otherwise known as prevent defense. Nobody else in the B10 dares to run the 3-4. Certainly not Minnesota. Quote Link to comment
