Ask Northwestern if they are glad the game "was played" against my Zips a few years ago. Quote Link to comment
admo
Yes Akron is the greatest, we should be happy we didn't play 2 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Huskers play four of the bottom five. Bad news: we've already played three of them, lost to one and still have one of the worst defenses in the country. Good news: There's still one left on the schedule... Quote Link to comment
Mavric
On the other side of the ball however.... Quote Link to comment
soup
I know this is more rhetorical, but are the defenses so good for those guys, because they played the bottom 5 teams on offense? Quote Link to comment

The opponent adjusted numbers tell a similar story, so I think they're just good. https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ncaa/fei/overalldef/2022 I also like yards per play because it accounts for teams like Minnesota who play defense by keeping their defense off the field. Minnesota does drop to 15th there (still very good), but Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan are 1/2/3 for YPP. No matter how you slice it, we will be playing 4 of the best defenses in the country and a fifth that's very good. Quote Link to comment
