The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

Recommended Posts

I also posted this in the other covid-19 thread

This article has a ton of data and charts along with some major takeaways. It's intended for politicians and community leaders, but I think gives a good account of what to expect and what to do:

Coronavirus: Why You Must Act Now

Quote

When you’re done reading the article, this is what you’ll take away:
The coronavirus is coming to you.
It’s coming at an exponential speed: gradually, and then suddenly.
It’s a matter of days. Maybe a week or two.
When it does, your healthcare system will be overwhelmed.
Your fellow citizens will be treated in the hallways.
Exhausted healthcare workers will break down. Some will die.
They will have to decide which patient gets the oxygen and which one dies.
The only way to prevent this is social distancing today. Not tomorrow. Today.
That means keeping as many people home as possible, starting now.

Well, Elkhorn is closed until 3/23...

We have no positive tests though.  There was a poster here talking about an Elkhorn South student on Tuesday, looks like that was just a rumor with the kids...

No positive tests doesn’t mean anything if people don’t get tested.

I know. We have several students in self quarantine. Someone here said one of those students tested positive.  That isn’t true.

But I was talking to a coworker during lunch duty, there is no way there at least at handful of kids aren’t positive and just don’t know it.
