The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

I guess someone on their "deathbed" was given that chlorine drug and lived.  I am guessing it was not the fishtank kind.

Even if they retool, wouldn't it be months before they would have something ready to go? I think any medical device mfg. would need to be tested and then approved by the government. I don't know what is worse, having no ventilator or having one that doesn't work right.

Hopefully we as a country/world don't have a short term memory about this. We need to think critically about our healthcare system and where PPE/equipment is made. We are only setup for a regional events and not a world wide event like this.

Yup. I mentioned it before, but it would be about a month before they would probably be retooled (absolute best case scenario) then at the very minimum a few more weeks for testing/vuyoffs/approvals. Good news is they are using the same blowers that have passed automotive cycle/durability testing so they probably don't need to retest that. Otherwise that would be a month long test I'm guessing.

Yes

switching a plant over to making something like a ventilator takes time even in these kind of situations.

you don’t walk into a plant and a week later have 100,000 units.

Just some kind of "leadership" we have here....

https://www.cnn.com/videos/health/2020/03/13/coronavirus-questions-answered-town-hall-mh-orig.cnn/video/playlists/coronavirus/

..."the governor of Washington",  "the woman in Michigan"...

How any self-respecting woman could, in their right mind, vote for this man just blows my mind.

I can honestly say I am embarrassed to be a citizen of the country that elected this piece of garbage as POTUS.

https://covidtracking.com/data/

Been looking for this for a minute and finally found it. This is US testing data by state. As I suspected, NY has completed 100,000 more tests than any other state. Washington is #2 with 45,000 tests. What's interesting is, only hotspots seem to be getting alot of testing. Most states have under 5,000 completed tests. Louisiana has done 20,000 or so tests and is one of the fastest growing areas in the country per million people. Mississippi right next door has done less than 4,000 tests. New Orleans is 45 minutes from the coast of MS and I know for a fact New Orleans residents are fleeing for their second homes in MS. Other residents are coming to MS to take advantage of more relaxed restrictions. This is exactly why the spread isn't going to stop anytime soon. Not only are we too lax and disorganized with our social distancing, but we aren't getting ahead with testing across the board. Testing is just happening in places deemed hot spots. I wonder why those places are so hot. I'm sure if other states were tested at the same level many of those states would be considered hot spots as well. We are so far behind this thing it seems like any sort of containment is a fairytale.

What I was referring to was people running from one state to another fleeing like refugees.  Evidently, that wasn't conveyed if you didn't read the article.

I didn't read it, people fleeing from states is crazy in itself, police stopping cars and people getting quarantined is also pretty crazy though.

Read it and my thoughts still stand on it.
