This is obviously a serious situation, but can anyone honestly say the media isn't making the situation 100x worse? No different than usual I guess...

No, they're actually doing their jobs and asking tough, fair questions while attempting to tamp down product.

Trump knows there's plenty of contrarian rubes out there willing to criticize anyone else (the media) in an effort to remain fair and balanced™️.

What exactly would you have them do to not "make things worse?"

Given that the GOP strategy seems to be heaping blame on China, this seems somewhat significant.

Quote

The American disease expert, a medical epidemiologist embedded in China’s disease control agency, left her post in July, according to four sources with knowledge of the issue. The first cases of the new coronavirus may have emerged as early as November, and as cases exploded, the Trump administration in February chastised China for censoring information about the outbreak and keeping U.S. experts from entering the country to help.

“It was heartbreaking to watch,” said Bao-Ping Zhu, a Chinese American who served in that role, which was funded by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2007 and 2011. “If someone had been there, public health officials and governments across the world could have moved much faster.”

Zhu and the other sources said the American expert, Dr. Linda Quick, was a trainer of Chinese field epidemiologists who were deployed to the epicenter of outbreaks to help track, investigate and contain diseases. As an American CDC employee, they said, Quick was in an ideal position to be the eyes and ears on the ground for the United States and other countries on the coronavirus outbreak, and might have alerted them to the growing threat weeks earlier.

-----------------

Quick left amid a bitter U.S. trade dispute with China when she learned her federally funded post, officially known as resident adviser to the U.S. Field Epidemiology Training Program in China, would be discontinued as of September, the sources said. The U.S. CDC said it first learned of a “cluster of 27 cases of pneumonia” of unexplained origin in Wuhan, China, on Dec. 31.

Once again the Trump administration incompetence has turned out to cost us.

he is just doing his job of tearing down the government.  so what if some of the jobs he gets rid of might prove beneficial to america.

Honest question, in what way(s) are they making it worse?  Are they causing the spread of the virus?  Is the President only doing what he says he's done to appease the media? Doubt it.

The situation we're in (social distancing and the economic fall out) is because it is recommended by healthcare professionals.  The media is just getting their message out.

Yeah because this is so incredibly helpful

How did it make our situation worse?

What can the media do to make our situation better?  Does Trump making stuff up help?

As exemplified by the tweet in my post you originally responded to, they continually misrepresent things that Trump and others say and do in order to make the president look as bad as they can.

Then add in the media's fake outrage over "Chinese virus"

Neither of the things i posted in the last 2 posts are examples of the media "calling out Trump" or anything like that. They're examples of the media manipulating their audience with misleading their audience, which is often done with made-up sources and nonexistent information, and that type of disgraceful "journalism" has ruined the faith people have in the media.

I've said this a thousand times... There's plenty of substance to critique Trump on, but they almost always make headlines out of distorted info, flat out fake info, or things that aren't even worth talking about.

And people on this board eat it up because "orange man bad"
