knapplc
Welp, for better or worse, here's the first salvo in what is sure to be a new battleground for recruiting. Quote Huskers and Opendorse Announce Groundbreaking Partnership The University of Nebraska and Opendorse announced today the launch of the first-ever program designed to help student-athletes build their individual brands. The program will provide all 650-plus Nebraska student-athletes social media solutions with proven effectiveness at the highest levels of professional sports. The Ready Now Program, powered by Opendorse Ready™, provides three core pillars to student-athlete success: Assessment, Education, and Performance – tailored to assist each individual athlete. Founded by Nebraska Football alumni Blake Lawrence and Adi Kunalic, Opendorse has become a proven market leader in helping sports organizations and their athletes prepare and execute social media programs to increase the value of their Name, Image and Likeness (NIL). More than 10,000 athletes currently use Opendorse to maximize their value in collaboration with partners on social media. Opendorse has partnered with the NHL, NFLPA, PGA Tour and others while brands like Pepsi, Procter & Gamble and EA Sports also use the platform. "We've been preparing for this moment for over seven years," said Blake Lawrence, opendorse CEO. "Coach Frost and the Nebraska athletic administration understand the time is here to empower student-athletes to prepare their individual brands for future success. It doesn't hurt to have guys like Blake Lawrence on board - former Huskers who are pioneers in the field. 5 Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
Can't understate enough how huge this is. Of course other schools will follow suit but being the first makes a difference. Will be an incredible tool on the recruiting trail. 3 1 Quote Link to comment

Nebfanatic
Cam's was posted late last month so it appears this has been in the works for the players already. Pretty cool and will be interesting to see how else it will be utilized for the players Edit: just saw this tweet. Pretty smart. This is going to be huge for us. 3 Quote Link to comment

PasstheDamnBallGuy
Seems like this is an added benefit to fans if we get more social media content and cool shirts. 2 Quote Link to comment

Best part about the cool shirts is we will be directly supporting the players themselves. Husker players will be making pretty good money off of merchandise I could imagine 1 Quote Link to comment

jaws
Interesting that they are opening this up to tall student athletes. On the football front, OSU has been doing this since 2018. Quote Link to comment
