Enhance
A story about selfishness. My wife and I are in a pseudo-quarantine right now awaiting the test results of our friends' 18-month old son who was exposed to coronavirus. We got together with them a couple of times this past weekend (socially distanced, but still in close proximity for extended periods of time) before they had any idea he may have been exposed. So, how was he exposed, you might ask? Because their child goes to a daycare where, last week, another family's son wasn't feeling too well and showing mild symptoms that may be related to coronavirus. That family decided to get him tested, but still allowed their son to return to the daycare, even after he had been tested. On Monday, this family AGAIN allowed their son to return to the daycare. Later that morning, they received a positive test result, called the daycare and picked up their son, but not before exposing all of the children and staff to the virus for several days. Fortunately, it sounds like everyone in my friends' family is doing fine even though they haven't received their own results yet. But, still... What. The Actual. 2 Quote Link to comment

An odd complication - manufacturers are scrambling to produce the billions & billions of needles we'll need to administer these vaccines. Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
Maybe once we take the vaccine we should all go have sex with everyone with a cough to see if it works. 2 Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Knocking on the door of the Big Ten, and includes Iowa. Quote Task force report says 18 states in coronavirus 'red zone' should roll back reopening An unpublished document prepared for the White House coronavirus task force and obtained by the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit newsroom, recommends that 18 states in the coronavirus "red zone" for cases should roll back reopening measures amid surging cases. The "red zone" is defined in the 359-page report as "those core-based statistical areas (CBSAs) and counties that during the last week reported both new cases above 100 per 100,000 population, and a diagnostic test positivity result above 10%." The following 18 states are in the red zone for cases: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Utah. 1 Quote Link to comment
