OK....who is the band going to play for?  No fans in the stands and TV never shows the band.

When I was in the band...knowing that the fans often didn't pay attention and my TV time would be rare...I played for myself and for my fellow band members. As a band alum, it warms my heart to see these kids being able to play and have fun again.

One thing that sucked about sports getting cancelled or delayed, is that being an athlete and competing is such a huge part of their identity that got taken away (or nearly taken away). But the same thing goes with the band (and any other activities that have been screwed up by the pandemic).

I have not been to my gym since the start of the school year but that is the only place I have seen people without masks.

Every store I go to has been full masks.

Eating out, the people at their tables have their masks off.  I am starting to think that might be one of the reasons for the spike.  But that is the only spot where I see no masks.

Studies link dining out, going to bars, close contact with COVID spikes.
