Yvan Ouedraogo was the center, and a center he remained. Mack was the point guard and hardly ever anything else. That's not how Hoiberg wants to run things. How next year's roster is shaping up to be is more to his liking. Hoiberg's philosophy is, essentially, you don’t really know who the point guard is. Someone starts at that position, generally the smallest guy on the court, but that title means little. The Hoiberg plan enlists multiple ball handlers at multiple positions, running sets in succession with one another, an amoeba offense that bends and contorts itself to attack the opponent's weaknesses. With Kobe Webster, Dalano Banton, Teddy Allen, Kobe King and Trey McGowens, Hoiberg sees that finally happening next year. “I think a big thing is, we've got multiple handlers now that can make plays and that have made plays,” Hoiberg said on a recent teleconference call. “I think all those guys will fit very well together.” 1 Quote Link to comment

NUance
It's quite possible our point guard is on some other team's roster right now. Oh, I'm just kidding. Or am I? 3 Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Hoiberg's system is as close to position-less basketball as there can be in the college game. He probably won't need one lead point guard on his best teams. Quote Link to comment
lionsfan93
A combination of the Kobe's and Banton will primarily be handling PG. McGowen could factor in too - I know he believes he will get a waiver to play right away. Quote Link to comment
