swmohusker
Saw a tweet where Miami Northwestern HC was fired and staff suspended for a year for practicing during stay at home orders. Crazy if true. Just means more. Quote Link to comment

Crazy if true. Just means more. Just googled it and they are still investigating it. So far the HC has been suspended and not fired yet. No word on the rest of the staff yet. This is not good to hear since it is arguably our biggest pipeline. Quote Link to comment
Huskadeez
Penn State flip? 1 Quote Link to comment

Decked
Payton would be a huge loss. We need more guys that can rush the passer. That being said I’m not sure if there’s legit legs under this thing or what 1 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Word is both Penn State and Florida State are after him but nothing substantial so far. He doesn't talk to the recruiting media much so he's kind of tough to get a read on. We actually offered him when he was a sophomore and he appreciates us recruiting him that early. Needs to add weight for college - may be why is wasn't as highly-rated. But is now one notch from being a four-star on 247. 4 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Returned a fumble for a TD to help Northwestern upset Central 21-14. Says he's still committed to Nebraska but Florida State is pushing him hard. Penn State not after him as much as they used to be. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Quote Freak is a term thrown around too much in the sports world but sometimes it's the first phrase that crowds the cranium when a gaudy athletic feat takes place. What about an entire game's worth of head-turning and gasp? SI All-American continues a salute to these dominant high school football players in a weekly feature, of course titled 'Freak of the Week.' High school football is well underway in several states and the wild, almost Fantasy sports-type statistical performances are piling in. FOTW candidates can be dominant in the trenches or beyond the numbers, and this week's winner helps us delve into an entire new category for the honor -- an entire pass rush. The Miami (Fla.) Northwestern front, which helped the Bulls kick off the 2020 season Friday night with a win over rival and fellow Florida state champion Miami (Fla.) Central, is the next Freak of the Week. Led by senior edge rusher Patrick Payton, a Nebraska commitment, the group tallied double-digit sacks and even combined for a strip-sack fumble returned for a touchdown in the 21-14 win. Payton did the honors for the game’s sole defensive score, one of many highlights the group accounted for in what was a consistent punishment against what is considered a rock solid offensive line. The future Husker, who is hearing from additional programs this fall, added 2.5 sacks and a tackle for loss in the win. SI.com 1 Quote Link to comment
